You’ve landed on the Lunar research station.
Too bad you *crash* landed.

Download for Windows (102MB)

There’s no need to install the game, just unZip the file and double-click the Crashed Lander icon. You should get good framerates with pretty much any dual-core machine or budget gaming system. If you’re on an older/slower machine, choose Fastest from the quality settings.

This version is here thanks to Unity’s cross-platform magic. I don’t have access to a Mac, so this version is not well tested. Previous versions have worked well on several models of Mac, so I expect this on will work for most people. Reports that it is working well on Macbook Air. Unity system requirements for Mac say: “Mac OS X 10.5 or later.”

Download for Linux
– (102MB) untested

I can do the same magic trick with Linux, I think. This version is untested but should work on Ubuntu and some other builds. I’ve heard from one player who’s using Ubuntu 12.10 with nVidia GPU. Give it a try if you’re feeling adventurous.

Crashed Lander is a simple game inspired by classics like Space TaxiLunar Lander, and QWOP. Pilot your craft from pad to pad trying to beat your best time – then flirt with that fine line between speed and control.

La Mancha Ridge

If you’re brave enough to fly without the AutoPilot assist you’ll be flopping around like a drunken, low-gravity turtle. Get a feel for it and you’ll be zippin’ around shoutin “Do a Barrel Roll!

You’ll see sites from the cutting edge of fractal mathematics – bizarre, organic shapes, arcane archaeological digs, and all manner of WTFderful alien vistas. Each level is a detailed hand-crafted landscape that encourages the player to explore - and goof around!

This is a one man project – powered by Don Whitaker and Unity 3D.

A billion credits worth of this InstaWorld terraforming tech – and I‘m building a janky ship outa propane tanks and spare parts. I’d give my left lugnut for a simple SubEtha ThumbDrive

At least there’s still air in this damned greenhouse. Crazy freakin plants and noodle-knows-what out there. What’d those terraforming nimrods expect to happen when they shifted evolution into fast forward?

Pfft…Whatever. I gotta get this thing in the air and land at all three of those pads. That should enable the MultiVerse ‘port station. Get to that, and I. am. Outa here.

Current Plans:

Streaming version of web player that loads levels as you play, instead of all at once.

Downloadable version for Mac/PC with full res textures and realtime lighting on.

Make it easier to fly – with quicker adjustments.

Search and collect items. Fun way to encourage exploring the entire map.

Achievement based gameplay – ie. knock down 10 insanity pepper or finish in X seconds.

Critters and other interactive obstacles.
